Projekta apraksts:

Latvijas IKT uzņēmumu un zinātnieku atbilde pandēmijai 2020. gada pavasarī bija lietotne “Apturi Covid”. Pēc epidemiologu aplēsēm, pat ja tikai 15% iedzīvotāju (286 200) to izmantotu, tas būtu liels atbalsts vīrusa izplatības ierobežošanai. Tomēr liela daļa sabiedrības bažījās, ka lietotne radīta iedzīvotāju izsekošanai, un nevēlējās to lejuplādēt. Kampaņas “Apturi vīrusu ar telefonu” radošais risinājums izgaismoja to, ka lietotne ir vēl viens epidemiologu ieteikts instruments saslimstības samazināšanai. Lai nostiprinātu šo pārliecību, tika solidarizētas dažādas sabiedrības grupas, iesaistot Valsts prezidentu, pro bono līdzdarbojoties desmitiem publiskā un privātā sektora partneru, viedokļu līderu, dažādu nozaru speciālistu u.c. Kampaņas ietvaros tika izvērsta vērienīga mediju attiecību un ATL kampaņa, rīkoti vebināri, izveidota dokumentālu video sērija u.c. Kampaņa ne vien kliedēja šaubas par lietotnes lietderību, bet to līdz 2020. gada beigām lejupielādēja > 290 000 lietotāju.

Project description:

The answer of the Latvian ICT sector and scientists to the pandemic in the spring of 2020 was the Apturi Covid app. According to epidemiologists, if just 15% of the population (286 200) used it, that would greatly help curb the spread of the virus. However, many thought the app was created to track people and didn't want to download it. The creative solution of the "Stop the virus with your phone" campaign highlighted the fact that the app is one of the tools recommended by epidemiologists to reduce the number of infection cases. It took some serious solidarity to amplify the message – the President got involved, and dozens of public and private sector partners, opinion leaders, industry experts and more worked together pro bono. The campaign included an extensive media relations and ATL campaign, webinars, a documentary video series and much more. As a result it helped dispel misconceptions about the app, and by the end of 2020 the app was downloaded by > 290 000 users.
